About the event
Celebrate late autumn with our Persimmon, Walnut & Pecan Foraging Day on the first Saturday in November! We’ll gather under the cool November canopy to identify native trees, learn about their seasonal cycles, and collect ripe persimmons, freshly fallen walnuts, and pecans ready for harvesting. Along the way, volunteers are invited to join our iNaturalist tagging group, helping us document and map the Food Forest by identifying and recording tree species in the app. Dress for the fall weather and bring water, gloves, and a container for your harvest. It’s a relaxed and rewarding day—part foraging adventure, part citizen-science mission, and perfect for all ages (supervised kids welcome!).
