APPLICATION: Food Forest Project Manager
Part-Time, Temporary. $20/hour
Position Summary
The Food Forest Project Manager is responsible for directing the planning, development, coordination, and operation of a public food forest and foraging path in partnership with municipal departments, state agencies, contractors, community organizations, and volunteers. Essential functions include project coordination, site oversight, community engagement, educational programming, grant reporting, and supervision of interns and volunteers.
The position requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, perform moderate physical activity, and maintain a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants must possess experience or demonstrated knowledge in forestry, agriculture, horticulture, permaculture, or a related field, along with the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats and to prepare reports and educational materials. Proficiency with standard office software is required. The successful candidate must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government partners, contractors, volunteers, and the public. Experience in public-facing educational or recreational programming and a valid driver’s license are required. Preferred qualifications may include Spanish proficiency, relevant certifications, or related academic or professional training.
